Seeli ma chicken curry
Ingredients:
Chicken - 1 kg ( skinned & cut )
Onion - 3 big (Grind coarsely)
Tomatoes - 2 big ( grind )
Green chillies - 4 ( slit )
Pudina (mint ) leaves - 1 small bunch
Coriander leaves - 1 small bunch
Ginger & garlic paste - 1-1/2 tbsp
Coconut - less than 1/2 coconut ( grated )
Cuscus 2 tbsp ( soak in 4 tbsp of warm milk for 30 min )
Cinnamon ( patta ) 1" inch
Cloves - 4
Bay leaves - 1
Chillie powder - 1-1/2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Dhaniya powder - 2 tbsp
lime juice - 1 tbsp
Oil - 5 tbsp
Salt to taste

Method:
- Grind grated coconut and cuscus into a fine paste and keep aside.
- Dry grind (coarsely ) cinnamon and cloves.
- In a heavy bottomed vessel add oil, wait for a while for the oil to get heated. Add the ground cinnamon and cloves, bay leaves, green chillies, pudina (mint ) leaves,coriander leaves, ground onion and saute till the onion turns light brown.
- Add ginger and garlic paste mix well, then add the tomato paste, coconut and cuscus paste, chillie powder, turmeric powder and dhaniya powder saute well. Leave it to cook for 7 min.
- Then add the chicken, salt, lime juice and add little water for it to cook.Cover the vessel and leave it to cook in slow fire for 25 min or till the chicken is tender.
- Garnish with coriander leaves. Now Seeli ma chicken curry is ready to serve.
- It goes very well with hot hot white rice, Idly, dosa, spring appams and appam.
